Mumbai: The highly anticipated historical political drama, The Bengal Files, directed by Vivek Agnihotri, is set to debut on ZEE5 on November 21.

Agnihotri describes The Bengal Files as more than just a film; it serves as a poignant reminder of the overlooked aspects of our shared history and the consequences of silence. The narrative aims to highlight the struggles, bravery, and truths of Bengal.

The film boasts remarkable performances from a stellar cast including Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumar, Simrat Kaur, and Saswata Chatterjee.

Anupam Kher expressed that some narratives linger in one's memory, and this trilogy is one of those impactful stories.

He stated, “This film transcends mere historical recounting; it delves into the essence of humanity. Reading the script evoked a profound emotional response, a pain that only truth can elicit. This film marks the third installment in the acclaimed 'Files Trilogy,' following The Tashkent Files and The Kashmir Files. It explores the tumultuous events of pre-Independence Bengal, particularly the 1946 Great Calcutta Killings, and their significant influence on India's journey towards Partition and Independence.

Pallavi Joshi, who is both a producer and actor, shared that each film in the trilogy has been a profound emotional and artistic journey for her.

She remarked, “With The Bengal Files, we aimed to unveil a truth that has been buried under years of denial. Every scene and performance is deeply rooted in reality and emotion. I am proud that ZEE5 is bringing this story to a broader audience, allowing them to experience it beyond the cinema.”
